Photo Point 2*), video and photo provided. n nThe Goodwin Side Channel is located on the left bank at RM 11.7 – RM 12.1 of the Wenatchee River. If viable, a side channel connection project will address the highest priority ecological concern in the Lower Wenatchee assessment unit, (RTT Biological Strategy 2018) Peripheral and Transitional Habitat (side channel and wetland connections), benefiting all three ESA listed species spring chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha), steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), and bull trout (Salvelinus confluentus). The primary cause of the limited floodplain connectivity and off channel habitat in the project location is human development and infrastructure including US highway 2, the BNSF railway, and levees.
