Anita Chavez

I am Anita Marie Chavez, a self taught  visual artist. 
I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and now make my home in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. 

My love of art is expressed through abstract painting. I paint to make the Invisible-Visible.  My art creates movement within, a disruption of thought leaving a bold colorful dance upon the canvas that invites life.  

It is given from above.  

It is inside each of us. 

My first art series titled, "Miraculous" is currently featured at Coati Uprises "Art on the Mezz" until the end of February
In August of last year I was selected by the Pueblo Levee Mural Art Project to paint an outdoor mural entitled New Beginnings here in Colorado.
My painting "Road Warriors" was selected by the NM Multiple Sclerosis for their promotional campaign and bicycle jersey. 

My dream is to paint a four story building, the first of many.
