The project mainly focusses on the purpose of disaster management in the context of Nuclear Hazardous zone. n nCurrently, there are 440 operable power reactors in the world, 55 reactors under construction and 109 reactors planned, while 329 more reactors are proposed. nStill there is not even a single proposal for a habitable city or livelihood in the proximity of one. Even though nuclear powerplants are safer than ever there is still a persistent hazard underlying its premises. This can arise due to natural calamities or unprecedented errors. nA single Nuclear powerplant opens up numerous job opportunities and the fear of one makes people not want to settle near those structures. This has been discussed in detail in my dissertation. nIn the case of Japan, after the incidents at Fukushima, a huge mass of people have relocated from their homes. Even after the radiation levels lowered, the iminent fear of radiation exposure still haunts the people of Fukushima. nIn my thesis I have focussed on a small town in Namie where the govt has declared radiation levels below harmfull level. This town was rich in culture and busy with people. After the incident Namie is a ghost town. The people of Namie were very close with each other as it was a small town as a result the people still wish they could just see their neighbours, visit their streets with a peacefull mind. But the fear inside them is a major factor in their denial to return. n nMy Thesis focusses on revitalising Namie town by relocating the town which is already prone to tsunamis to a safer, higher location in a safe enclosure where they could live in peace and harmony.
