Like a torii gate at Meiji Shrine, I see myself as someone who can move between different worlds while carrying the same values with me. Upon first meeting me, some people find me intimidating; others see me as sweet and genuine. Those who know me well would describe me as sensitive, but deeply caring. I think of my personality as a chameleon—I adapt to my environment and the people around me, but kindness, initiative, and accountability remain constant.
What I seek in an organization is more than involvement; I seek a community of girls who embrace one another, explore new sides of themselves, and prioritize friendship, growth, and support. I want to be part of a group where warmth, academics, curiosity, and compassion coexist.
I found that community at the Texas Bluebonnets meet-and-greets. Every individual was warm and genuinely interested in getting to know me, rather than interacting out of formality. I left feeling that Bluebonnets was filled with women who sincerely wanted the best for one another. I also admired the organization’s dedication to study hours and creating an environment where members can grow academically alongside each other.
Most of all, I am drawn to how Bluebonnets supports its members academically, personally, and as leaders. Like passing through a torii, I hope joining Bluebonnets marks the beginning of a new chapter—one where I can grow, give back, and build lasting friendships while staying grounded in the values that matter most to me.
