Tres Puntos cabin’s sturdy structure, sharp lines, and nod to the Mexican spirit echo the strong, angular leaves and the cultural significance of agave plants. Belonging to the Asparagaceae family, the agave plant is native to arid regions of the Americas. The elongated triangle-shaped leaves of agave grow up from the ground in a thick cluster, resembling the triangular structure of Tres Pontos, designed and named for the union of the mind, body, and spirit. Agave plants help stabilize soil, provide food and habitat for desert species, and support biodiversity in native regions. Unfortunately, due to habitat destruction, nearly half of the 156 agave species are endangered. Many Mexican legends portray the agave plant as a gift that is associated with endurance and strength, passion and transformation. In Mexico, agave is turned into medicine, as well as spirits like tequila and mezcal, which represent both a deep connection to the land and a blend of Indigenous heritage and modernization—much like the essence of the Tres Puntos cabin. Embracing the sacredness of agave, slow down and indulge in a leisurely retreat at Tres Puntos, swathed by the wisdom of the trees and rejuvenated by the light-flooded space.
