About me

I have been taking photographs for as long as I can remember, using 35mm film, developing and processing in black & white then more recently using digital. From my base, on the very far north coast of Scotland, in the wee village of Tongue, I offer a complete 360° photography and virtual tour creation service.

With Beyond Nessie, there is more to Scotland than just one Loch and a Monster. Our Mission: to promote Scotland across all different guises, not just the landscape but what actually lies beneath the rocks (so to speak), the different lights, colours, shades, the stories, folklores, more importantly the businesses and the people and the communities - allowing anyone who is making plans to visit really see what is here, what is possible, as well as allowing anyone who may not be able to travel, immerse themselves in the vibrant surroundings and glean from the rich history.

Initially my clientele are in the tourism hospitality sector, though I do provide solicitors and estate agents with sales or rental property walkthroughs. I am currently developing a series of interactive storytelling virtual tours, which will feature audible guides, adding an informative learning resource to Scottish heritage.

I offer an initially consultation over the phone, if necessary followed-up by a visit to the location to completely understand the scope and layout of the project. I offer advice on whether a location requires dressing to make it look it’s best. I use a specialised single-shot 360 Camera that shoots high quality images and fast, keeping inconvenience to the client/location at a minimum. Post production is where the real work happens as images are processed and stitched and the camera monopod feet are removed. After which, construction of the tour then takes place. Clients are consulted throughout the whole process. Once a client is happy with their virtual tour, they are supplied with links to use the tour on their social media or embed codes to include the tour on a website.
